A-PDF Text Extractor is an utility designed to extract text from Adobe PDF files. There are three mode of output text: In PDF Order, Smart Rearrange and With Position. The program is a standalone application. No Adobe Acrobat needed.
Features: A-PDF Text Extractor lets you extract text from PDF files into other applications. This has three modes. The first of this is extracting text in exactly the same order the text is in the PDF file. The second mode lets you do some rearranging while the third mode lets you specify position in the PDF file from where you want to extract text. To be able to extract text the file should not be only of images but must contain some text. Sometimes text may not get extracted even if there is text. Usually it is because the text string may have been actually entered as an image in the PDF file. The PDF file format is complex, there are cases that text in a PDF file are actually pictures. Such picture text may not be extracted properly. Also text copying should not be disabled as part of the security restrictions in the file. The publishers seem to have another application that can remove such blocks as well. The original formatting is lost when extracted from the PDF file.
Overall: It is for a specific niche but work ok in that niche alright. One other angle the users must be aware is that it could be tempting to use text from some existing document and use in documents that you create. Copyright restrictions apply and you should resist such temptations.
